WELCOME!
Whether you are a fresher, a postgrad, or in-between; whether you're thriving or struggling; or asking big questions about life and God (see Investigating below), we'd love to have you spend time with us in Union Church.
Your degree is probably why you have come to Sheffield. We'd also love to see you keep growing in Jesus, living for him on campus and for the rest of your life. So come and 'taste' our church family!
Family meals
Join us on Sundays after our regular church gathering for home cooked food - around 5.15pm. We have meals planned for the following dates:
Sunday 21st September
Sunday 28th September
Sunday 5th October
Sunday 12th October
Simply stay around once the formal gathering is over, or join us from 5.15pm. You will meet some of the church family and learn informally more about us. You are welcome to just turn up but if you can let us know you are coming that will help us with the catering. Text or call Wendy on 07751-745249.
GAMES NIGHT
Please join us for a games night on Saturday 18th October. We will start at 7.30pm and have a variety of board games, so whether you're an avid board gamer or you've never played before there should be something for you. Feel free to bring a game of your own you’d like to play. Text or call Dave on 07552-726309 for the venue and for more information.
Ceilidh
On Saturday 22nd November we’re having a church ceilidh. Come and join us from 7.30-9.30pm at Philadelphia church building. Scottish dancing - a ceilidh - is accessible to all ages and abilities, so no skill required! Text or call Wendy on 07751-745249 for more information.
Throughout the year
As Students in Union Church, we want to support you to fully integrate with our church family while you are here, as well as to make the most of the opportunities in your university. There is no one-size-fits-all, so the students who get stuck in with us will help us shape our approach.
Investigating
Perhaps you're checking out the Bible and Jesus for the first time; perhaps you've gone along to church with your parents, but now want to investigate for yourself. We'd love to help you discover answers to your questions. Text or call Chris on 07762-149059 for more information.
Let's Talk - English Conversation Club
An informal day-time club for those wanting to practice their English whatever their level. We've had men and women, PhD students and those with little education in their own language from various countries, mostly in the Middle East. It runs on Mondays from 1-2pm during term time. Please bring along international students who want to improve their English or just come along yourself and help the team chatting round the tables. Text or call Chris on 07762-149059 for more information.
